This document provides a concise technical summary of the Event Description Sheet (EDS) related to the CLYMACT transnational meeting hosted by the Municipality of Agioi Anargyroi-Kamatero (AAK) in Athens, Greece, from 24 to 27 November 2025, within Work Package 4 (WP4).

The event focused on Energy Poverty, explored through the interconnected dimensions of climate justice, social inclusion, local governance and youth participation.

Event Overview

The Athens meeting was organised as an in-situ transnational event and involved 140 participants, including municipal representatives, project partners, experts and young ambassadors from several European countries.

The programme fostered institutional dialogue, peer learning and cooperation, while placing young people at the centre of discussions and co-design processes.

A key highlight was the strengthening of pre-twinning processes between AAK and Unione Reno Galliera, and between AAK and Mislata, laying the foundations for long-term collaboration on energy poverty and youth participation.

Programme Structure and Key Elements

  • 24 November – Arrival of delegations and joint welcome dinner, promoting networking and intercultural exchange.

  • 25 November – Institutional opening, signing of the pre-agreement between mayors, partner and youth presentations on energy poverty, and expert contributions on household vulnerability and support mechanisms.

  • 26 November – Youth-led working groups at Harokopio University of Athens, parallel partners’ meeting, and study visit to the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center, focusing on sustainability and energy efficiency.

  • 27 November – Departure of participants.

Key Outcomes

The WP4 meeting in Athens resulted in:

  • strengthened cooperation between local authorities and young people on energy poverty-related climate actions;

  • enhanced youth engagement in policy-oriented discussions;

  • consolidation of pre-twinning pathways among partner municipalities;

  • exchange of practical approaches to support energy-vulnerable households.

The event confirmed the strategic role of municipal governance and youth empowerment in addressing energy poverty through inclusive and climate-conscious local policies.
