Celebrating Europe Day 2026: Local Stories and Shared Values

On the occasion of Europe Day, May 9, 2026, Unione Reno Galliera is releasing two special videos that highlight the local territory, its youth, and culture as essential tools for experiencing and sharing European values. These videos were filmed in local libraries—hubs of culture and active promotion of European citizenship.
The Voice of the Future
In the first video, the Ambassadors of the CLYMACT project share their personal experiences. They discuss what it means to participate in a European initiative dedicated to climate action, active citizenship, and the future of local communities. Each testimonial concludes with a single keyword: a simple, direct way to express the personal and collective value of Europe today.
Literary Insights into Europe
In the second video, the librarians of the Unione Reno Galliera—who serve as cultural touchstones and local outposts for a "decentralized Europe"—offer curated reading recommendations focused on European values. These books and stories provide deeper insights into themes such as:
Solidarity
Sustainability
Human Rights
Civic Participation
The videos were filmed across the various municipal libraries within the Union, maintaining a cohesive visual identity that celebrates the collaboration between Ambassadors, local administrators, and library staff.
What’s Next?
Coming soon, a series of thematic videos dedicated to each individual library will be published. These will feature in-depth contributions from the mayors and councilors of the Union’s municipalities, continuing the narrative of the vital link between Europe and our local communities.
